Decided to succumb to the Brit lifestyle and decided to have a chill BBQ out on the lawn. The weather has been amazingly sunny the past few days, sure it's great that the sun is out but the UK is definitely not prepared for sunny weather. At least in Singapore when it is hot you know you always have some air-conditioned place to run to or a well-ventilated area.
The days are getting longer and longer here due to the sun now setting around 10pm or so. Makes me feel as though it's still so early, love it!
The sun setting at 10pm
BBQ!!
Love how we're having a BBQ in the midst of exams hahaha.
Weather reached a high of about 22 degrees today! Feels like Singapore on its coldest day, minus the humidity haha. The sun is scorching today it's crazy.
Love how the Brits go mad the moment the sun is out. Everyone is sprawled out all over the grass around university, the guys are decked out in tshirt and berms, girls are in sundresses, and everyone has pulled out their sunnies. Ice cream vans were scattered around the university area today. A pity that it's the midst of exams sigh. Hallmates were seen throwing frisbees on the garden lawn hahaha.
This pretty much depicts how Manchester is now, well sort of.
I've been spending my days in my hall library pretty much for the past few weeks, only leaving for meals and to go back to my room to sleep. So sick of studying, just 15 more days till all this will be over and summer begins. My mind is currently filled with case names and criminal law information swimming around everywhere, need to organise my thoughts.
First exam on Wednesday and hopefully time will just fly by after that.
The weather forecast promises sunny skies this week, let's hope that it's true! Weather may actually be above 20 degrees? Finding it hard to believe haha.
Have not seen a single day where the weather forecast for Singapore does not show a thunderstorm icon hahaha.
On another note, plans of going to Spain before London/New York is actually materialising. May actually finally be able to visit Barcelona!! We shall see :) The month of June is going to be amazing, at least I hope it will be.
iTunes is releasing the entire album to listen to for free for a temporary period of time, so excited! Will be out around 10am Singapore time/3am in the UK wheee ^^
But for now, back to the books zz. So sick of studying, I spend a lot of time reading, and understanding what I read, but somehow nothing stays in my head. I cannot seem to memorise cases yet, really need to get my head in the game, slightly more than a week sigh.
Not feeling very confident for this set of exams yet, it seems like all I keep doing is reading and reading, I understand what I am reading but it cannot seem to stay in my head.
Had a pretty good weekend so far :) Headed to Stacia, Cherlyn, Mentari and Jodie's new apartment for a housewarming! Felt good to take half the day off from the books to just enjoy a good dinner with friends.
Headed to town for a very short bit today, haven't been there in ages. We were walking past the space where the Manchester Wheel used to be and suddenly realised it disappeared, quite amazed at how a huge wheel can disappear just like that. Apparently it's currently in Edinburgh right now, they're making way for some Olympic screening at the spot where it used to be or something along those lines. Bring the Manchester Wheel back! Would like to sit on it at least once hahaha.
Spot where the wheel used to be
Had dinner in Chinatown, which meant I got to eat sweet&sourpork hahaha yay. Dessert later was really yumz too.
I absolutely love how the sun sets at 9pm now, the dreary weather is slowly but surely coming to a close, at least I would like to think so. The only bad thing about the sun setting so late is that I always feel the day is still very early and I have lots of time for the rest of the day
